Awesome Oil & Gas Microsites
June 18th, 2009
We love working with Oil & Gas. Obvious benefits aside, it gives us the opportunity to demonstrate incredible feats of engineering, or communicate the latest technologies and reach out to the general public.
Our latest project for Petrofac combines complex field schematic diagrams and technical data into an interactive presentation designed to showcase their latest oil field installation.
BP Sim City Societies
This is pure genius. Although the website could be a lot better, the BP Simcity Society is a fantastic example of digital collaboration at its best. Those of you gaming in the early 90’s will know Simcity well; it’s all about building, managing, and powering your virtual city.
As an energy supplier BP powers cities all around the world, so what’s to say BP can’t power your virtual city too? Players can choose a normal world, or a world powered by their alternative energy products and get a first-hand look at just how much of a difference clean energy makes.
Chevron – Will You Join Us?
There is an increasing drive towards digital media as the main method of communicating the oil industry’s environmental and social initiatives; Chevron’s campaign being the model to follow.
“I WILL USE SOLAR POWER”
Never thought we’d hear an oil company saying this. Chevron’s bold and challenging statements coupled with a clean interface and awesome social networking features make this a brilliant website.
Shell Real Energy
Shell’s Real Energy campaign showcases their global GTL (gas to liquid) initiative. You can navigate the ‘shell world’ or use their simple navigation taking you through the GTL process step-by-step.
The site has some great videos, walkthroughs, and interactive presentations (look for ‘tackling urban air pollution’)
